Back in mid May, Roger Wang spoke at the 15th Annual Cardiovascular & Medicine Symposium 2014 about how acupuncture can help with not just pain, but cardiovascular diseases as well. Based on the feedback from the audience, the presentation was a success.
The conference was located in St Augustine and included physicians from all over Florida, as well the Jacksonville area, where our clinic (Wang Acupuncture Clinic) is located. There were even physicians from Fernandina Beach, near our branch on Amelia Island.
The first part of the presentation was a demonstration by Dr. Wang performing a mini acupuncture treatment on a volunteer in the audience to relieve her neck pain. The volunteer reported that her neck pain had disappeared at the end of the 30 min presentation.
During the presentation, Roger spoke about existing research on the efficacy of acupuncture as well as its increase popularity in prestigious institutions like Johns Hopkins medical center and Mass General.
Roger also discussed the fact that acupuncture is helpful for stroke recovery, peripheral neuropathy and some arrhythmias, all of which are seen frequently in patients with cardiovascular diseases.
